I adore Violet Crawley! Maggie Smith just plays her perfectly and brings that magic tough that only she can give to a role. The Dowager Countess is definitely my favourite Downton Abbey character and, indeed, my favourite fictional character of all time (perhaps drawing with Minerva McGonagall).
