I think it was more that Nanny West shared the same elitist views as characters like Larry Grey and Stowell (Lord Sinderby's butler), who viewed Tom Branson as once a servant, always a servant, and an upstart who did not belong at the same table as his in-laws. She did refer to Sybbie as "that chauffeur's daughter". Though Larry Grey and Stowell also did look down on Tom for being Irish, they also called him as a chauffeur even though he no longer was one.100.16.249.227 16:34, May 10, 2017 (UTC)
