MyAnna Buring (born 22nd September, 1979; Sweden) is the actress who joined the cast of Downton Abbey in Series 3 as new maid Edna Braithwaite. She returned to play Braithwaite, who was re-hired as the lady's maid to the Countess of Grantham, during the first four episodes of Series 4.
Buring was born in Sweden but grew up in the Middle East. When she turned 16, she moved to England. She attended high school at the American British Academy in Muscat, Oman, with her childhood friend Stegath Dorr, who is a character actor and a prolific horror film maker. Buring graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 2004. She is also the associate director of the MahWaff Theatre Company[1].
