Miss Reed is Martha Levinson's American lady's maid who travels with her from New York to Downton Abbey in 1920.

Miss Reed is attracted to Alfred and kisses him. She witnesses Sarah O'Brien take Robert Crawley's shirts and tells Alfred where they are so he can return them to make Thomas Barrow look foolish after Thomas tricked Alfred into ruining Matthew Crawley's dinner jacket.

When Mrs Levinson returns with her son, Harold, for Rose's debutante, Miss Reed has left her service and Mrs Levinson is without a maid.

According to Ethan Slade, she handed in her notice after "having her head bit off one time too many".
